CS08. Safe parking for bicycles
Healthy Campus. Design of a safe parking system for bicycles and other Personal Mobility Vehicles at UPC campuses, based on the mobility behaviour analysis and the singularities of the campuses.
The UPC Sustainable Campus Plan aims to reach that 60% of the university community moves by bicycle, Public Transport or walking to access the UPC campus. One of the key strategies to enhance cycling is the provision of smart and safe parking systems, as well as policies that provide economic incentives to cycle.
This thesis proposal has the objective of mapping the existing bicycle parking infrastructure, and elaborate a proposal of safe parking for bicycles to implement at UPC campuses. This work has to include the dimensioning, location and typology, the adaptation to electric and mechanical micromobility tools and the definition of the service.
Tasks to develop
